"No there is not a live hearing. The Board starts to review the file 4 to 6 months prior to the eligibility date. There is not a live hearing, the only way to notify the Board or be heard is through the protest letters and hopefully if the State voices it's protest or opposition to his parole. Just keep sending the protest letters. They have an enormous impact."

Here's my letter, in the mailbox and ready to be picked up tomorrow. Feel free to use it as a template, although it would help to change the words around, put in your personal knowledge of this dirtbag, etc. By the way, the feeling of signing my name, sealing the envelope, and raising the flag on my mailbox, was, as they say, priceless:

Re: Kelly Gordon Rogers, TDCJ #01938357

Dear Sir/Madam:

An inmate in your custody, Kelly Gordon Rogers, should NOT be considered for parole at any time prior to him serving the entire 20 year sentence he received, which was FAR below the maximum he could, and should have, received.

As a licensed Texas attorney, Rogers scammed literally thousands of people out of money via several Ponzi schemes and other business scams he operated. He delayed the trial several times with various legal tricks. He was tried and convicted of only a single charge, there were several others pending. He agreed not to challenge his conviction in exchange for not being tried on the other numerous charges.

The people he ripped off suffered from not only lost money, but damaged relationships, divorces, bankruptcies, and even at least one suicide. There is an excellent website that describes Rogers’ illegal activities: kellygrogers.blogspot.com. This is a criminal that does NOT belong back into society until it is absolutely necessary.

I personally attended much of the court proceedings, and particularly the conviction and sentencing phases, and Rogers showed absolutely no remorse for the damages he caused. This is a beast without a soul.

His wife and others are also being investigated for conspiring with him, and if he is released any earlier than absolutely necessary, he will obviously return to the cesspool he created.

In the event you have any questions regarding anything in this letter, please do not hesitate to email and/or call me.
Regards,

Rogers is in the system, his projected release date is less than 10 years from now! Spread the word that this is how sentencing works, 20 years is NOT 20 years, and if you want someone to be sentenced to 20, give them at least 40. The jury was instructed specifically that they could not discuss (or even consider, if I recall accurately) what Rogers' actual time served would be when they discussed his sentence. Therefore, everyone should be made aware of this fact and decide accordingly if you're ever on a jury.

Today I sent my letter to the parole board. I used the basics of the letter supplied, then added my own personal story of how this asshole ripped through our lives and when the damage was done, moved on without even an "I'm sorry".

We ask that you post a note when you've submitted your letter so we can get some idea of the numbers. It's all about the numbers of letters and the passion.

August 30th, 2016 he's parole eligible. That sucks.

I'm sending mine out Monday and I will be adding a Certificate of Service addressed to Offender Kelly G Rogers c/o Joe F. Gurney Unit. Just making sure I let Kelly know what I am sending. They will deliver it to him as well. Keep up. the Campaign

I suggest everyone post their letters here (minus any personal information), it will help others put their thoughts on paper. Plus, we know the pro-Rogers group reads this blog, it will piss them off, and what could be better than THAT?

"people he ripped off suffered from not only lost money, but damaged relationships, divorces, bankruptcies, and even at least one suicide."

That is really the most tragic aspect of all this. Does anyone know who committed suicide?

Do they have live parole hearings, as well as accepting these letters?

I do not know who committed suicide. And no one on this blog has ever come forward with a name.

Second, Rogers is currently not allowed a parole hearing at all. Eventually, on 8-30-2016 he will become ELIGABLE for a parole hearing and THATS where these letters come into play.

Real live people in Austin read these letters. They keep them private and Rogers never sees them. Can't see them. Is not allowed to see them. However, they do influence them as to whether he is granted a parole hearing date or it's denied.

Therefore, if enough letters are received, we CAN push off any parole hearing several years and MAKE HIM DO MORE TIME.

Got it?

Just to be clear, will there be a live hearing in August 2016 that we can attend and make statements?

No parole hearing listed. Go to this link and it spells out all the information clearly. http://offender.tdcj.state.tx.us/OffenderSearch/offenderDetail.action?sid=08427798

And to add to the last entry, offenders in Texas (love that word for Rogers, OFFENDER) are not entitled to, nor do they get a "hearing" on their consideration for release on parole. Thousands of files are randomly reviewed and very few make their first parole. As shining the light of truth says" the more protest letters received in opposition to an OFFENDER'S request to be released on parole" the less likelihood they will be released. Furthermore, the Parole Board can give a "set off" up to five years if they decide to do so. Meaning Rogers could get set off 5 more years after his first review and have to wait the 5 years to be reviewed again. The protest letters carry a lot of weight, especially given the harm done to so many of Offender Rogers victims. No doubt, Carrie will hire Offender Rogers a parole lawyer, however, it really will not make a difference as in Texas there is not a right to the expectancy of being granted parole. Keep the letter campaign going against Offender Rogers and send more when Offender Rogers is 5 months from review. Which is a long long time from now!

That's good to hear the 2016 date has little practical meaning, but I agree, keep sending the letters and posting them here.

Regarding the question of any suicide, not sure if this below relates to it, but earlier on this blog, at this link, it was noted one person related to Rogers had died,, “passed away” below. Though it did not say how.
http://kellygrogers.blogspot.com/2009/10/in-review-kelly-g-rogers-sued-by-sec.html

“Rogers knew that Davis’s claims were fraudulent. First, Rogers was an investor in Correll’sheme, a similar high-yield investment program, which had ceased making promised payments. Also, Rogers was on notice that these investments were scams when he learned of the Commission’s allegations in the Correll civil action in which Robbie Gowdey, Kelly G Rogers’s friend and neighbor, was charged with violation of the federal securities law. To illustrate the friendship, Rogers had been assigned as the trustee to Robbie Gowdey’s family Trust account. Robbie Gowdey passed away on January 8, 2009.”

I looked at other places regarding this related case and name of deceased and also found this same person was facing “judgement” problems just like Rogers, at this website where there is a legal document. (makes me wonder if people in these type situations would rather die than face the law and prison)

“ 1. Harry Robinson “Robby” Gowdey: this named defendant is deceased. An agreed judgment as to liability was entered on October 31, 2006 “

Here is another reference to this individual in an article about half way down the page at http://www.dmagazine.com/publications/d-magazine/2006/april/pulse

Gowdey also looks like a typical crook who pretends to be a Christian while ripping off people. It helps with getting people to trust them.

Thats a multifacited interesting article in D Magazine. You just never can know who to trust these days.

Does anybody know the Gowdey/Rogers connection, besides both living in Frisco?

Anonymous said...

Robbie Gowdey lived in the same neighborhood as Rogers. Heard that Rogers did some legal work on Gowdey's family trust. They all knew each other. According to the SEC, Gowdey introduced rogers to the "Program" which was the Travis Correll Ponzi scheme. The rest is history.

As a small business owner I did work for Kelly Rogers.
At the completion of the project he just refused to pay my balance.
He assured me that he had a lot of money and that he is a lawyer and I will NEVER see my money owed.
He was right, I NEVER got paid.
